You are permitted to bring small personal items, such as handbags and collapsible umbrellas, which can fit safely under the theater seat; hiking packs, luggage, large instruments, etc. are not permitted in the venue. Grocery bags, especially those from the Saturday Market, must be checked at Coat Check – this ensures no food or drink enters the theater.
The Wheeler Bar offers limited snacks and a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for purchase that may be consumed in the lobby only. Per Aspen Music Festival & School (AMFS) policy, concession items are not permitted into the theater and must be consumed in the bar lobby. Outside food and drinks are not permitted into the venue – please plan accordingly if dining out in town before attending a performance.
Only valid non-expired U.S. IDs or foreign passports are accepted at the Wheeler Bar for the purchase of alcoholic beverages. Foreign IDs are not acceptable under the Colorado Liquor Board regulations.
Patrons may not photograph, film, or record any performances on any device, including mobile phones. Only : AMFS personnel may do so. You may however take photographs before the show and during intermission.
Patrons are also asked to turn off all cell phones, alarms, pagers, and other audible electronic devices before the performance begins.
The AMFS and the Wheeler attempt to begin all events at their scheduled time as a courtesy to performers and fellow audience members.
If you arrive late for a Saturday Masterclasses, an usher will seat you during the next available speaking break. For Operas, late seating will occur at specific times designated by the Conductor; if you arrive after late seating, you may need to wait until intermission to be seated in the theater. Warning lights flash in the Box Office and Bar Lobby at 5min and 2min prior to curtain.
The Box Office will hold any personal items left in the facilities. Inquire with an usher, at the Box Office, or call (970) 920-5770 (daily 9am-5pm). Please note that lost and found services cannot always be performed during or directly after performances or during peak Box Office hours. AMFS and the Wheeler cannot be responsible for personal property.
The safety of our patrons, performers and staff are of utmost importance to the Wheeler and the City of Aspen. Working together with Aspen Police Department and local security professionals, we’ve put in place a handful of procedures to ensure we continue to provide a safe environment for our valued patrons and employees. Please do not bring bags, parcels or luggage to the Wheeler.
